Kanda Myojin Shrine

Kanda Myojin Shrine was said to be originally built in 730, and moved to the present location in 1616. It has been restored and rebuilt, and finally rebuilt with concrete after the Great Kanto earthquake in 1923.
The shrine is particularly popular among locals, and now tourist from overseas because of the deities enshrined. The deities are Daikokuten, Ebisu, and Taira no Masakado, who are the guardians of towns in Tokyo such as Akihabara, Kanda, etc. People come to pray for their health, business success, happy marriage, or recovery form illness. Kanda Myojin is one of the oldest shrines in Tokyo and one of the three great shinto festivals of Tokyo.
